Founder & President

Malak Sidky, DES, HMCC is the founder and president of Health Care Event Planning. She has a BSc in Biochemistry from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Toronto, as well as holding the Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate. She is fluently bilingual. Malak teaches Event Planning in the School of Creative Industries at Conestoga College, Risk Management in the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Fanshawe College and has taught Special Event Operations at Centennial College. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee for MPI Toronto and is the volunteer coordinator for Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking (MPAHT).

Malak’s breadth of experience in the industry is vast; she has planned and executed a variety of health care educational events and projects for various clients in the health and pharmaceutical arena. Her events include think tanks, webinars, workshops, advisory board meetings, continuing medical education (CME) sessions, wellness retreats, union conventions and multi-day conferences.

Senior Event Director

Sharon Lechner, CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) has planned hundreds of events and recently launched her first online events course.   She is Vice President of Education for CanSPEP (Canadian Society of Special Event Planners) and a member of the Advisory Board for Fanshawe College’s Event Planning Program.  She was part of the conference committee for CanSPEP’s  annual conference in PEI.

Sharon has completed her certification course in Virtual Events and Meetings Management offered through the Event Leadership Institute and MPI.   She loves creating virtual and in-person sponsorship packages and created sponsor engagement and recognition opportunities for virtual and in-person events.

Event Intern

Aida is a second-year Special Events Planning student at Fanshawe College with a background in chemical engineering. She is focused on putting her knowledge and skills to use by supporting causes that she is passionate about, whether it is volunteering at a shelter or raising money to end domestic violence against women. Aida is very driven and is always looking for new opportunities to expand her experience and benefit her community. She is excited to be a part of the Health Care Event Planning team.

Digital Marketing Strategist

Dee Boswell-Buck is a Certified Digital Marketing Strategist and Consultant of Boswell-Buck Creative. She helps Health Care Event Planning use the online space strategically to get found, get connected, and drive traffic to their website. She also is the main driver of the HCEP newsletter.

With 26 years of experience in customer service the retail sector, Dee helps her clients craft messages to win their target audience over and choose the right platforms to expand their reach.
